How to clean your dirty white sneakers!

Good morning, everyone!

Today I want to share with you one my favorite laundry tips & tricks! Have you ever had a pair of white sneakers, either your own or a loved one's, that got dirty too soon and you just weren't quite ready to toss them away? No problemo!

Get ready to devote 1 washer load exclusively to your white or semi-white shoes and at least 10 hours for them to dry in open air (do not put your sneakers in the dryer, people!), and you're ready to go!

What you'll need:
  • 1 cap full of Tide laundry detergent
  • 1 cap full of Clorox 2 Bleach for colors
  • Stain remover such as Spray n Wash Stain Stick, or Shout Triple Action stain remover
  • A washer full of hot/warm water (preferably hot ;-) )

Directions:

1) Spray or lightly rub your white sneakers with stain remover on all areas that are stained, and let sit for at least 15 minutes (allow more time for heavily stained shoes).

2) Set your washer on the "Whites" setting, or press the button associated with a hot water cycle and start the washer.

3) Pour in the Tide and Clorox 2 as the washer is filling, and when it's full, swish the water around to evenly distribute the detergents.

4) Toss your shoes in!

Tips:
  • If your sneakers are extra stained, when you toss your shoes in, allow them to get fully saturated in the water/detergent first and then grab a gentle rag (ex. for the face) and lightly buff away some of the stain remover & stains. This will lift some of the stains, and allow you to see if more stain remover and time is needed to get your stains out before you completely submerge them into the washer and finish the cycle.
  • You can use this method for mixed white & non-white sneakers! I wouldn't recommend this for black sneakers, though- as it may fade the fabric.

Enjoy! :-)

Have a great day everyone!
